Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy

Also known as Janz syndrome.
Typically manifests first between 12-18 years age.

Seizures :
  • Myoclonic (frequently in the morning)
  • GTCS (majority patients have this along with myoclonic)
  • Absence (1/3 rd can have these)
MCQ point :  There is never a complete remission but response to valproate is very good.
