Types:

  • Chromaffin cells (Sympathetic paraganglion)
    • Pathology e.g.-  Pheochromocytoma
  • Non chromaffin cells (Para-sympathetic paraganglion) 
    • Pathology e.g.- Carotid body tumor, Glomus juglare, Glomus tympanicum
      • sometimes called Glomus tumors* ]
